This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the Instagram Image & Video Downloader Chrome extension, also described as Instagram Photo & Video Downloader or Image & Video Downloader for Ins (the “Extension”). The Chrome Web Store extension ID is hlhibekklicmnenbllmeepnbjhjeonkl.
This page explains what Instagram post, reel, profile, media, and page data the Extension reads or processes, what stays on your device, what may be sent directly to Instagram or Meta from your browser, what Plugins Hub does not collect, and how support information is handled.
This privacy policy is provided by Plugins Hub. For questions, contact contact@pluginshub.site.
Instagram Image & Video Downloader is an independent Chrome extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by Instagram, Meta Platforms, Inc., Facebook, WhatsApp, Threads, or any other Meta product.
1. What the Extension Does
Instagram Image & Video Downloader helps users save Instagram media that they choose to access in their own browser. Depending on the page and feature you use, the Extension can:
- Download supported Instagram photos, videos, reels, and carousel media
- Download supported media from public Instagram profiles, including posts, reels, profile-grid content, and tagged media
- Add download buttons or scraping controls to supported Instagram profiles, posts, reels, and feed views
- Detect image resources, video resources, reel resources, thumbnails, cover images, captions, and available high-quality media URLs
- Save selected media files to your device through Chrome’s download flow
- Organize downloaded files into local folders based on the visible Instagram username or source name
- Track local download progress, queue status, retries, and completion state while a download is running
The Extension is designed to run locally in your browser. The download feature does not require a Plugins Hub account, and you do not provide your Instagram password to Plugins Hub or to the Extension. If a post, reel, profile, tagged-media view, or feed item is visible only to your Instagram account, browser session, permissions, or relationship to another account, you must be signed in to Instagram in your browser for the Extension to access that content.
2. Instagram Media Data Processed Locally
When you start a download or scraping task, the Extension may read or process data from Instagram pages, dialogs, responses, scripts, or resources that your browser can access for the Instagram view you selected. This may include:
- Instagram post URLs, reel URLs, profile URLs, tagged-media URLs, feed URLs, media URLs, and related navigation URLs
- Post IDs, media IDs, reel IDs, carousel item IDs, owner profile IDs, usernames, display names, and profile URLs
- Photo URLs, video URLs, reel URLs, thumbnail URLs, cover image URLs, display resources, original media resources, and related technical media metadata
- Captions, visible post text, timestamps, media type, carousel item order, and other visible metadata when needed to identify or name downloaded media
- Public profile page structure, profile-grid entries, tagged-media entries, pagination cursors, and technical response data needed to continue a profile download
- Browser page structure, buttons, links, dialogs, scrolling state, and loading state needed to locate media and place Extension controls
- Folder names, sanitized filenames, download queue state, progress state, retry state, completion state, and download results
Purpose: this data is used to find the Instagram media you selected, resolve the best available media resources, create filenames and folders, show progress, and save the selected files to your device.
Storage and handling: Instagram media data is processed in browser memory while the Extension is running. Some operational data may be stored locally in Chrome extension storage so the Extension can remember settings, maintain task state, avoid duplicate work, or show progress.
Sharing: Plugins Hub servers do not receive, upload, store, host, review, sell, or share the Instagram photos, videos, reels, carousel files, profile media lists, media URLs, captions, usernames, profile URLs, filenames, folder names, pagination data, or download results processed by the Extension.
3. Downloads Stay on Your Device
When you use the Extension to download Instagram media, the files are saved on your device through Chrome’s local download feature. Plugins Hub does not receive a copy of the downloaded files.
The Extension may use the visible Instagram username, profile name, or source name to create a local folder name or filename. That organization happens on your device and is not reported to Plugins Hub.
Downloaded files remain under your control. You are responsible for how you use, store, share, or delete downloaded Instagram media. Please only download content that you own, that is public, or that you otherwise have permission to save.
4. Requests to Instagram and Meta
To display Instagram pages and retrieve the media resources you choose to download, your browser may send requests directly to Instagram, Meta, or Instagram CDN domains such as instagram.com, i.instagram.com, cdninstagram.com, and fbcdn.net.
Those requests may include Instagram cookies, account session status, post identifiers, reel identifiers, profile identifiers, pagination details, request parameters, and media URLs required by Instagram to return the content visible to your browser.
These requests are made directly between your browser and Instagram or Meta services. Plugins Hub does not proxy those requests through Plugins Hub servers and does not receive Instagram cookies, Instagram authentication tokens, Instagram passwords, profile media lists, or downloaded media files.
Your use of Instagram remains subject to Instagram’s own terms, privacy policy, account settings, permissions, and technical controls.
5. Local Extension Storage
The Extension may store limited operational information locally in your browser or on your device. Local storage may include:
- Extension settings and preferences
- Current task ID, active task state, and download progress
- Media download queue information
- Cached lookup results, pagination state, or page-processing state used to continue a task
- Retry, pause, resume, completion, or error status
- Local download history or recently processed post, reel, profile, or media references
This information remains on your device unless you choose to send it to us, such as by including screenshots, logs, filenames, or troubleshooting details in a support request.
You can delete local Extension data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing the Extension’s storage in Chrome. Downloaded media files and local folders remain on your device until you delete them.
6. Information Sent to Plugins Hub
Instagram Image & Video Downloader does not send Instagram photos, videos, reels, carousel files, profile media lists, media URLs, captions, usernames, profile URLs, filenames, folder names, or downloaded files to Plugins Hub.
The Extension’s media download and profile scraping features are designed to run locally in your browser. The only information that may be sent to Plugins Hub relates to support or direct communications that you choose to initiate:
Support. If you contact support, we may receive your email address, name, message, attachments, screenshots, browser or Extension version details, troubleshooting details, and any other information you choose to provide. Please avoid sending downloaded media or personal data unless needed for your support request.
Website requests. If you visit pluginshub.site, your browser may send ordinary website request information such as IP address, user agent, requested page, referring page, and timestamp to our hosting or security providers. This is separate from the Extension’s local Instagram media download feature.
Chrome Web Store and browser updates. Extension installation, update delivery, crash reporting, and Chrome Web Store account activity may be handled by Google according to Google’s own policies. Plugins Hub does not receive your Instagram media through Chrome Web Store update delivery.
If a future version adds account, paid, subscription, analytics, or cloud features, Plugins Hub will update this Privacy Policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures before collecting or using additional categories of user data for those features.
7. Information Plugins Hub Does Not Collect Through Its Servers
Plugins Hub does not collect, upload, host, sell, or review the following through its servers during normal Extension use:
- Downloaded Instagram photos, videos, reels, carousel files, thumbnails, cover images, or generated download folders
- Lists of Instagram media detected by the Extension
- Instagram post IDs, media IDs, reel IDs, post URLs, reel URLs, profile URLs, usernames, captions, timestamps, or profile-grid entries processed for downloads
- Instagram media URLs, thumbnail URLs, cover image URLs, display resource URLs, original resource URLs, CDN URLs, or generated local blob URLs
- Instagram comments, direct messages, follower lists, following lists, private communications, or private account data unrelated to the download task you start
- Your Instagram password, Instagram authentication cookies, or Instagram login credentials
- Your general browsing history outside the Instagram pages where the Extension is providing its media download functionality
- Advertising identifiers, cross-site tracking identifiers, usage analytics for advertising, or behavioral profiling data
Plugins Hub does not use the Extension for advertising tracking, personalized advertising, behavioral profiling, data brokerage, resale of user data, spyware, or AI training on downloaded Instagram media.
8. How User Data Is Used
The Extension uses locally processed Instagram media data only to provide the media download and profile scraping features selected by you, including:
- Detecting supported Instagram photos, videos, reels, carousels, and media resources
- Showing Extension controls on supported Instagram pages
- Reading visible Instagram post, reel, profile, tagged-media, or feed data for a task you start
- Continuing pagination or scrolling for a selected public profile download
- Resolving available high-quality media resources
- Downloading selected files
- Saving files to your device
- Organizing media into folders based on usernames or visible source names
- Managing task progress, retries, pause/resume behavior, and local settings
Plugins Hub uses support and website request information only to:
- Provide and maintain the Extension and related website
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues
- Protect the Extension, website, accounts, users, and services from abuse, fraud, or security incidents
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations
- Enforce applicable terms and policies
Because Plugins Hub does not receive Instagram media lists or downloaded files, we do not use that content for any purpose.
9. How User Data Is Shared
Plugins Hub does not sell user data. Plugins Hub does not share Instagram photos, videos, reels, carousels, profile media lists, media URLs, downloaded files, filenames, or folder names because that content is not sent to Plugins Hub.
The following parties may receive data as described below:
- Instagram, Meta, and Instagram CDN domains. When you browse Instagram or use the Extension to fetch post pages, reel pages, profile pages, tagged-media pages, feed posts, photo resources, video resources, thumbnails, or profile media lists, your browser sends requests directly to Instagram.com, i.instagram.com, cdninstagram.com, fbcdn.net, or related Meta services. Those requests may include Instagram cookies, account session status, request parameters, post IDs, reel IDs, profile IDs, pagination details, and media URLs needed by Instagram to return the requested content.
- Chrome and the local browser environment. Chrome stores extension data locally or in Chrome sync storage according to your browser settings, and Chrome receives download URLs, filenames, and folder paths through the local downloads API so media files can be saved on your device.
- Plugins Hub website and support providers. If you visit pluginshub.site or contact support, hosting, security, email, and support providers may process the limited website request or support information needed to operate the website and respond to your message.
We may also disclose limited support or website information if required by law, subpoena, court order, legal process, or a valid government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Plugins Hub, users, or others.
10. Chrome Extension Permissions
The Extension uses browser permissions only to provide its visible Instagram media download features. Depending on the Extension version, permissions may be used to:
- Access Instagram pages where the Extension is active
- Add scraping, progress, or download controls to supported Instagram posts, reels, profiles, tagged-media views, and feed views
- Read visible Instagram page content needed to identify media resources, usernames, filenames, folders, and download status
- Open, update, scroll, or monitor tabs involved in a download task you start
- Start browser downloads selected by you
- Store Extension settings, cached results, task status, and local preferences locally
The Extension does not use browser permissions to track unrelated browsing activity, collect unrelated webpage content, monitor websites where it is not providing Instagram media download functionality, or send unrelated browsing history to Plugins Hub.
11. Limited Use Disclosure
Instagram Image & Video Downloader uses user data only to provide or improve its single purpose: helping users download Instagram media they choose to access and save.
The Extension does not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, data brokerage, resale, credit eligibility, lending, employment decisions, or unrelated profiling.
Plugins Hub does not allow humans to read Instagram media or page content processed by the Extension because that content is not sent to Plugins Hub. If you contact support and choose to send screenshots, logs, filenames, or other troubleshooting details, support personnel may review the information you provide only to help with your request, investigate abuse or security issues, comply with law, or satisfy other permitted operational needs.
12. Data Retention
Local Extension data remains on your device until you delete it, clear browser storage, or uninstall the Extension. Uninstalling the Extension removes locally stored Extension data from your browser.
Downloaded media files and local folders are saved on your device and remain there until you delete them.
Plugins Hub retains support messages and website records for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to requests, maintain support history, protect services, satisfy business or legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
When personal information is no longer needed, Plugins Hub deletes or anonymizes it where reasonably practicable.
13. Your Choices and Controls
You choose which Instagram posts, reels, profiles, tagged-media views, feed posts, media files, or Instagram views to process with the Extension. If you do not want the Extension to process a post, reel, profile, media item, or Instagram view, do not run the Extension on that page or item.
You can:
- Stop, pause, resume, or cancel supported download tasks in the Extension UI
- Delete downloaded media files and folders from your device
- Clear local Extension data through Chrome settings
- Uninstall the Extension to remove local extension storage
- Contact Plugins Hub to request deletion of support records that identify you, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution retention requirements
14. Security
Instagram media downloading is designed to happen locally in your browser. Plugins Hub uses reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect the limited support and website information processed by our services.
If user data is transmitted to Plugins Hub for support or website purposes, it is transmitted using secure connections. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Third-Party Platform Notice
Instagram Image & Video Downloader works with Instagram media selected by users. Instagram, Meta, and Instagram CDN services are not operated or controlled by Plugins Hub.
Your use of Instagram remains subject to Instagram’s own terms, privacy policy, account settings, and permissions. The Extension does not give you ownership of third-party content and does not grant permission to use downloaded content in ways prohibited by law, copyright rules, privacy rules, marketing rules, or platform terms.
16. Children’s Privacy
The Extension and related services are not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not use them. Plugins Hub does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact contact@pluginshub.site and we will take reasonable steps to delete the information where required by law.
17. Changes to This Policy
Plugins Hub may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and post the revised version on this page.
If we make material changes to how we collect, use, store, or share personal information, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
